Today, 10th Aug 2024, was a remarkable day for the Kenya Curling Federation as our team gathered for a crucial training session at the Kasarani Stadium Indoor Arena. The turnout was impressive, with every member demonstrating commitment and enthusiasm, creating an atmosphere of unity and determination. This was not just another day on the floor; it was an opportunity to bond, reflect on our journey, and share our story with the media.

The media visit was a significant highlight of the day. Journalists and photographers arrived to capture the essence of our preparation for the upcoming curling season, which is packed with prestigious international competitions. We had the chance to discuss our challenges. Despite this, our spirits remain high, and we are focused on overcoming these obstacles.

During the interview, we emphasized our need for intervention to regain access to the ice rink, which is critical for our preparation. We also outlined our packed schedule for the upcoming season, which includes:

  • World Mixed Curling Championship in Scotland from 12th – 19th October 2024.
  • Pan Continental Curling Championship in Canada from October 27th to November 2nd.
  • World Junior B Championship in Finland this December
  • Quebec International Bonspiel in January

These events are crucial for us, not just as opportunities to compete, but to elevate Kenya’s presence on the international Curling stage.

Angel in action

As the day progressed, it wasn’t all serious discussions. The team took time to bond, share laughs, and capture some memorable moments on camera. The pictures taken today are not just snapshots; they are a testament to our resilience, camaraderie, and the unwavering spirit of the Kenya Curling team.

Kenya Curling Team all smiles

Kenya Curling extends gratitude to the Ministry of Sports and the National Olympic Committee of Kenya (NoCK) for their past support. We are optimistic that with continued backing, we will overcome our current challenges and achieve greatness in the upcoming season.

Today was a true reflection of what we stand for—a team united by passion, driven by a shared goal, and ready to face whatever comes our way. We look forward to the journey ahead and to making Kenya proud on the world stage.
