The QIB is 5-day bonspiel which takes place in Quebec City at the end of January every year. This event is played in all the different curling clubs in the city and most of the many social events take place in the world-famous Fairmont le Chateau Frontenac hotel. International Bonspiel starts on the Saturday with team receptions, the rookie reception and the official opening ceremonies. Sunday features the formal Curlers’ Grand Banquet in the Ballroom of the Chateau Frontenac and Closing Ceremonies including medal and trophy presentations take place on Wednesday evening. In between, curlers enjoy numerous social activities, a minimum of 5 games on the ice and of course everything that Quebec City has to offer.
