
Kenya to Compete in Historic World Junior Mixed Doubles Curling Championship 2025
The Kenya Curling Federation is proud to announce its participation in the inaugural Booster Juice World Junior Mixed Doubles Curling Championship, set to take place from 6–11 May 2025 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
This championship marks a historic moment in the sport, as it is the first time junior curlers will compete in the mixed doubles discipline at a world level—a milestone following the format’s growing success at the Youth Olympic Games.
Kenya joins 28 other nations, including curling powerhouses like Canada, Sweden, Korea, and Switzerland, in this open-entry competition that will feature teams from every corner of the globe—from Brazil to Nigeria to Japan. It’s a testament to the global growth of curling, and Kenya is proud to be part of this exciting wave.
How the Tournament Will Unfold
The 29 teams will be grouped into four pools, competing in a round-robin format between 6 and 10 May. The top two teams from each group will advance to the playoffs on 10 May at 18:00, followed by the semi-finals on 11 May at 10:00. The bronze and gold medal matches will conclude the event on Sunday 11 May at 15:00.
